Re: Halo: Reach 2.0
They probably were preserved, because remember, Reach had a Forerunner relic on it. You'd think they'd have saved all the animals.KrAzY wrote:I meant animal life
obviously there was plant life on several planets
large animal life on planets not in connection to the Ark don't make sense... all animal life with enough biomass to sustain to the flood was supposedly wiped out 100,000 years previously... unless these "giant claw beasts" and Moa were preserved like animals on earth on the arc... then they shouldn't have had time to evolve.

Reach had a forerunner relic, yes... it did not have a way to get to or back from the ark

If you're talking about a Voi Portal, neither did the Drone, Elite, Grunt, Jackal, or Prophet homeworlds. Else, they would've found them long before they found Earth.

Re: Halo: Reach 2.0
We don't know for sure if Reach has a portal on it, nor can we be certain that the other alien planets had them, the terminals indicated there were other portals constructed on other planets, most likely on ones with intelligent life.
If the flood had access to forerunner ships, before the forerunners constructed the Ark and Halo rings, they would have gone about making them invisible to those forerunner tech diving rod devices mentioned in CH (so the flood couldn't find the portals/halo rings/ark using commandeered ships), meaning the Covenant wouldn't have been able to find them later using the same devices the flood had.
Even if there wasn't a portal on Reach, they would have ferried all lifeforms with sufficient biomass off world to be cataloged and preserved. That's what that legends episode was about, and it was hinted in the terminal docs.
For all we know, Reach could just be one giant forerunner construct with a biosphere wrapped around it. Which is actually the twist at the end of Halo Reach.

Re: Halo: Reach 2.0
It's probably safe to assume that Earth was the only planet with a portal (hence the human/forerunner thing)

Re: Halo: Reach 2.0
I always assumed they were evacuated by Keyships everywhere other than Earth.

Re: Halo: Reach 2.0
Read the terminals.
More then one gateway, and they thought humans were well worth the effort, probably because they were intelligent life forms.
They would still have to use keyships (or other ships) as transports to move everything through the portal, no matter what planet it was on, but the terminal makes it clear there are more then one portal.
They're special - well worth the effort it took to build one final gateway, even at this late hour.

Re: Halo: Reach 2.0
why didn't they just use the fucking jetpack in the first place... instead of having her try to run it through like a football player?
"your dieing now... BTW I HAD A JETPACK, BITCH!"
*fwooshes away*
still have to say though... the jetpack is still one of the additions that infuriates me the most... tried to let it simmer over time... but I still hate the concept of spartans with jetpacks

Tell me about it man, he shoulda just planted the bomb himself, that way Kat wouldn't have to risk her life running around in no mans land, and there would be more time left on the bomb for them to escape.
