Because that worked sooo well in Star Wars Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike.

Meh, that game did it horribly. SW: CW did it in a MUCH better way.

Personally, I didn't mind it.

The only thing that bothered me was that the "single shot" blaster worked like a heavy machine gun...
