Fullmetal Alchemist [and a few less-epic animes]

Post by CivBase on Mon Aug 30, 2010 12:17 am

KrAzY, you are banned from this thread.

I never really cared for animes. I watched DBZ way back when and Naruto in middle school, but they just got so long that I gave up. I couldn't get into animes like Bleach and One Piece. But Fullmetal Achemist... this is... different. It's a healthy 51 episodes; it doesn't drone on, but you feel like you need more when you get to the end (kinda like Portal). It maintains a coherent story and doesn't fall into the trap of introducing a new thing every five minutes because the old stuff just wasn't enough to hold the audience.

I suggest you watch the first episode. You'll know if you like it or not.

Go there to get all 51 episodes (in English) for free.

Yeah, it's alright.

It's good when it's serious, and has a dark sometimes depressing story and moments. But then they go back to the stupid silly moments when they get that anime face and expressions, and it kinda kills it. I know thats a stable of anime but considering some of the stuff they show and the story they're dealing with. I feel it could do with out. But that's just me.

One episode I saw, a man was creating Chimairas for the military I think? And he ended up using his own daughter and the family dog. Morphed into one. And at the end, she got splatterd across the wall of a dark alley.

I was like: O_o

The only animes I've ever really liked are Avatar and Gundam.
Never watched Full Metal Alchemist, so I can't give an opinion of it.

You know what else is good?

BLAME! (that's literally what it's called.)

Dark sci-fi anime at it's best. It's a manga not an anime though. Well, there are six episodes of the anime, but nothing really happens. Anyways, the manga is really good.

The ones in bold were awesome but then FMA is even BETTER! Also, it's "FoolyCooly" I watched it too and it was so called that...Also known as FC.

Trinity Blood was epic. I loved that one. As well as Death Note. God I loved Death Note. I liked ATHF too but I don't think that's anime Razz
