How many of you have a cleaning lady?

Cleaning ladies are a bad investment.

You are paying someone to do something you can do yourself, so your wasting your money.

So that's why, my family and I do not have cleaning lady.

Cleaning ladies are only useful if you can't clean up after yourself (like if you're too old). Otherwise, it's better to save your money and just clean up after yourself.

Normally we go every few weeks on a cleaning spree, but... oh well.

Or you could be a VERY busy person and a cleaning lady is necessary? Or there are circumstances like you have many young aged kids and can't handle all the work yourself?


Or you're a true american and hire someone to do it for you.

In this economy? Are you kidding me?

I think we did have some maid service come in and clean a few years ago, but that only lasted a few months. They didn't really seem to do much other shampoo the carpets (something we couldn't do at the time because we didn't have anything to do that with), dust the furniture, wash the windows, basically all the fine tuning that we just don't usually have time for.

But on the topic of having someone do it:

Honestly, if you have the money, and feel like paying for it, then I don't see the problem. Go right the fuck ahead. There's nothing wrong with not wanting to clean up, especially after you get home from work (or in my case, Football practice), and your too exhausted to shower.

Still, it kind of sucks that they only come once a week, for the most part. Now, one of those daily things, I can agree with.

And yes Gauz, I mow my own lawn.

We used to do our own yard work, and to some degree, we still do. During the summer, Mexicans mow our lawn, but that's pretty much all they do. We found that even if we pay them to do other stuff, they don't. Now, to be fair, we have like 500 square feet of lawn in five different areas, and only one is square shaped. Mowing the lawn with one lawn mower and one person is a four hour project, which must be done in 100+ degree weather. The Mexicans, with their multiple lawn mowers and multiple people, can mow all the lawns and edge the lawns in half an hour to an hour. However, trimming trees, bushes, and that sort of thing are all done by my father and I.
