What if it was a more dangerous infection, like L4D or Dead space type zombies? We could handle L4D zombies since you don't have to cut off their damn limbs.

As for necromorphs, they can be killed with a rotary sawblade.

Though the mode of transmission is rather preculiar.

but if the virus started in a 3rd world country or tribal area where everyone and everything was infected for months befor civilization heard of it, than me may have a problem, esspecually if other animals/insects/organisms can transfer it...

The problem with the zombie virus is that it's so engrained into pop culture, no one takes it serious.

It'll get written off as something else. People will do anything to maintain their delicate beliefs, and a zombie apocalypse is just not in most people's beliefs.

I'd note that starting location doesn't matter. Each location has its own benefit. If it's start somewhere third-world or tribal, it will have time to build up without being noticed, but if it starts in a high-population area, it will spread too quickly to be properly contained.

You see, what makes the zombie virus so deadly is that it doesn't just spread by bite. It spreads by any sort of fluid exchange. Zombie blood would be extremely contagious. A drop in your eye, your mouth, or in an open cut, and you've been infected.

Further, the incubation period makes it particularly deadly because people will convince themselves that they aren't infected and strive to break quarantine. It's one thing to contain zombies, but to contain intelligent, desperate humans who are infected is another thing entirely. Without immediate and indiscriminate response, quarantine would never stand up.

Have you guys ever read World War Z? I'm only about 1/4 of the way through it right now, but its a damn good book.

It put's a realistic view at how a Zombie Apocalypse would play out in not even today's day & age but I think a while back.

Anyways, here is an article I wanted to post on here. Thought maybe you guys could discuss it and the points it brings up.

What about India.

Crummy slums, literally billions of poor, unarmed Indians, weak military force, and the complete lack of hygiene. Not to mention a poor health system and an even worse crime issues.

Not to mention the labor force that India practically exports. Arab countries that require millions of underpaid and homeless that are shipped from India in ships with terrible conditions.

Arab countries without Indians means a collapse in the social structure, which is basically a halt in all labor jobs, causing huge issues in the groundwork. Social services will break down quickly and food, water, and oil that are normally regulated by the millions of them working in shops and gas stations will be without work. Indians make some like 76 percent of the population (Effectively 76% percent of the workforce). Which will cause oil prices to skyrocket.

The millions of oil expats will leave, and perhaps carry the disease. The majority of them being American and British, bringing the disease to more urban populace centers.

But without oil, mobilizing the military becomes costly, and thus substantial efforts of containment because difficult. That, under a lot more detailed circumstances like time of year could issue some scenarios that a Invasion might occur.

i think we should list countries that we think would survive a worst case senario...

Switzerland...Madagascar...Iceland...the end of list...

Switzerland because every male Citizen must join the military at the age of 18, and if you wish to become a citizen you must join the military, and after the military they are allowed to keep their issued rifle...a fully armed milita that might be stronger than the accual militay...Zombies beware

...why is that necessary in a nation that doesn't fight?
And Zombies wouldn't be the first massed force to attack Finland.
