Counter Strike Source Server

I'm starting up a new CSS Prison break server. For now, I'm not sure if it's quite ready for general use. It'd be nice if anyone here with Counter Strike Source could just jump into the server for a bit to see how it runs.

For me it's been a little choppy, but I'm not sure whether or not that's server-side.

Only major problem I'm having at the moment is that downloading each map takes as much as 6-7 minutes....

I'm not really sure how I can improve that...

Get a better server host/internet connection. If you're hosting the server yourself, you really want high upload speeds for the server.

nah, I'm actually renting the server from a pretty great supplier. I think there may be a way to compress the files? Either way, I'm about to just upload them and offer them for download in browser

I might join this, but still unsure if I should get CS...

should be working... it just might take like 6-7 minutes to download a map. It's really frustrating but that's about as good as it's gonna get unless I pay $5 a month for a separate download server. most people playing this particular game-type already have the maps.

Anyway... it's empty for now, and likely will be for about a month. I have lots of games to play
