Your ancestry
As a massive history nut, I have recently become obsessed with my ancestry. However, my family are very negligent when it comes to family records. My dads side of the family goes back furthest, to my great grandfather, but my mum didn't know her grandparents, and it seems that stops there.
The purpose of this thread is to discuss your ancestry. If anyone has any interesting stories about their ancestors. So please, share

Re: Your ancestry
I too, am a history nut, and did some basic research into my family's history.
On my mother's side, the Zarowski line can be dated to 1799 in America, though details are sparse apart from the names.
I'm less successful on my dad's side, as he didn't know much about his father's side of the family. I know my grandfather was born in 1887, and he held a few odd jobs before ending up in Sunnyside and marrying my grandmother.

My great grandmother's 4th cousin on my mom's side was Henry Ford and my great great grandmother's brother on my dad's side was Jesse James.

Well, yes, but which side?
English, Germans? Or were you driven out of the slums and into better housing by my Polish/Irish ancestors?

Sicilian (and presumably also some other mix along with that) , Irish, and German. Interestingly enough, my German ancestors on both sides lived in the same town.

Germany and Scotland. Although there was some Irish mixing with the Scottish...so...kinda weird >.>
My mom used to trace family history on her side of the family...she dated back to like...the...1600's or something? Idk. We do however, know our family crest and a description of our family name ^^
Kinda cool if ya ask me

Other than that, don't know much about my family history (and I'm history buff too

Wow, that is cool. I don't think I have a hope of tracing my family once they crossed the Atlantic.

Re: Your ancestry
I'm Irish, English, German, Italian, and Swedish. Beyond that, all I know is that Charles Dickens is some distant relative on my mom's side.
