I saw this a good couple of years back. Look promising at the time.

Is this any closer to coming out though?

They gave a "It's out when its out" response to people who asked. Probably to avoid the let down of the 2009 release date they originally predicted

Yeah, I thought as much. Still this has been in development about the same amount of time HL Episode 3 has been.

People are starting to get a little crazy.

This looks pretty good, I would go crazy if I had known about this in 2008.

I knew of it in 2009 and it made me jealous of PC owners.

I'm kinda barely holding onto the hope that Valve reveals episode 3 at E3 this year

Well I was thinking of the subject of late, as after Portal 2 which is out this month, what are they going to show next? L4D3 is a maybe, but after last time, I think we won't see much there. TF3? Maybe, but with the amount of new content and time they've put into TF2, and the Hats system, I don't think that will be going anywhere soon.

A new IP is always a possiblity, and it was rumoured as such recently.

It's been a long time since Episode 2 and fan desperation is at it's zenith. Either they do it now or within the next year, or we just go to Half-Life 3.

Either way, I would prefer a new Half Life then any of those to be completely honest Razz I love TF2 to death and don't feel personally they need to make a sequel to it lol

Most people are after HL ep 3. That cock tease of an ending would be soul crushing if it was never followed up.

We don't want to have a KOTOR II scenario again. (And no TOR may claim they're solving it, but not the way I wanted it, and they don't seem to get KOTOR II At all, but that's a different story)

Portal 2 is a must though.

Black mesa kinda looks like doom, I hope it's more of a survival horror than a shooter.

Black Mesa is a HD remake of Half Life 1.

Ah my bad all I saw was that trailer so I didn't know much about it. It still looks really fucking awesome.

Re: Black Mesa Source

So... HL1 on the HL2 source engine? I'm sorry... but this seems pretty pointless. While I would love to see HL2 game mechanics implemented in HL1, Portal 2 trailers have made it obvious that Valve has been constructing a new, more capable engine than their current source engine.

I figured this is why they haven't released anything on HL2:E3; they wanted E3 (or HL3) on the new engine, but they had to finish the new engine first.

Why release a new game like Portal 2 on the new engine and then switch back to the old engine for the next release?

What are you talking about civ?

This remake isn't being made by Valve.
