You are hoping this game has a feature from a game on the N64? From 1998?

That game is so old that the extraterrestrial interstellar war in the future that the game is set in is closer to the present then it's release date.

Yes, I am hoping it'd have the features of older games.

If it was like 007 i'm sure you'd buy it too.

Perfect Dark was like 007 btw >.>

You do realise that a remake port of Goldeneye 007 was put on the 360 TODAY don't you? And Perfect Dark is on XBLA?

I am aware Vigil, but that wasn't the point.

and from what I've seen and played (and I've only played multiplayer, but heard the single player wasn't that good anyways) it is basically Bad Company 2 with a few changes.

You can literally say that about every single modern warfare. full copy and paste.

Battlefield 3 is amazing, I have no idea why someone would want MW3 over BF3.

I bet there are more multiplayer changes in MW3 than BF3 from Bad Company 2.

I also think that MW3's multiplayer is more versatile.

EDIT: by that I means spec-ops too

like what? All the classes were shuffled up, vehicles are customizable, weapons are customizable, and there's greater persistent stats as well as whole new game modes.

mw3 is still the same thing as modern warfare 1, except with killstreaks, zombies and a 'horde' mode....thats 3 changes in 5 games

ntm battlefield has game modes are that more 'call of duty' style along with the authentic battlefield modes.

MW3 has Spec. Ops., Survival, and basic Matchmaking.

That alone is more features than BF3.

Plus they changed ALL of those, by adding new/different features.

You can throw as much sticky notes of game modes on a game but if the core is still outdated its still not going to be very good.

The multiplayer has been made more balanced and has added more fun and entertaining features while refining their "outdated" gameplay.

It's the first day so don't talk about balance. In a few days you will only see one or two weapons like in Black Ops in MW2. Probably an SMG.

Re: Modern Warfare 3

Post by CivBase on Wed Nov 09, 2011 3:10 pm

[rant] Note: You've probably heard this before. Feel free to skip it. I just need a place to rant after hearing nothing about Call of Duty for the past two days.

From what I have seen, the console version is nothing more than CoD4 and MW2 with a little more bloom. I'm sure they've tweaked gun strength again and messed around with perks and kill streaks a bit, but there's still nothing inciting about the game. Those kinds of things should be handled in PATCHES, not new releases.

Yes, it's true that continuations of franchises do not need to be innovative with each of their releases. In fact, excessive innovation has been the downfall of many good games. My problem is that the makers of Call of Duty seem to have this idea in their heads that everything about the Call of Duty gameplay is perfect and all it needs is a little more balancing. They have demonstrated a copy-and-paste attitude towards game development every year for the past 4 because they know they'll make a ton of money off of it with relatively little effort; it's sickening!

The only positive, noticeable game changes I have seen from CoD since CoD4 has been balancing tweaks, which they're HORRIBLE at. Shotguns, sniper rifles, and explosive weapons are rarely done effectively in CoD. Black Opps was the closest thing I've seen to a decent use of perksbut that's mostly due to them removing half of them!

And then there's the killstreaks and horrible server support... Needless to say, I have no intention of buying MW3 unless I'm missing something significant about this installment.

Call of Duty is an okay game, but there are significantly better games out there. I have little enough time to play video games as it is, so missing out on MW3 isn't much of a pain. Still, I'm growing tired of the video game industry settling on their games just being good enough and that will never change until gamers start standing up for quality over quantity.

Too bad that's not how society works...

Those are NOT good graphics....

Oh, and the balancing is bad too. A powerful sniper rifle is okay but there need to be greater limits for rate of fire and ammo capacity. A feature that makes scoped aiming less accurate while standing and more accurate while prone/crouched would also be favorable.

I think people just complained that they got a little too excited with the nerfing and people complained that they were useless.

So their way to fix it, is go back to the damn near broken quick-scoping antics of MW2.

Wasn't saying that it was a smart move, just that people didn't complain that it was gone.

I have no idea what people were complaining about in black ops, both of later sniper rifles were deadly if you actually knew how to snipe in First person shooters, Oh WAIT! my bad, 'quickscopers' don't Razz hell, they arent even that bad at quickscoping, in comparison to MW2 hell yes they are bad but thats why there were nerfed in the first place.
