The didn't make any human vehicle AI in Halo CE. The only reason Marines could even use ghosts was that they already had covenant vehicle AI.

One of the major 'upgrades' for Halo 2 was that they could drive you, as is why they had a trailer almost entirely dedicated to that principle.

Though it means more jackass AI who will leave you behind to forever walk the long roads.......

Which Hunters do you think they will use?

Blasting ones or laser beamish ones?

Blasting ones, as they were the original ones and the Reach models were also blast ones.

And yeah, it was a huge buzz when Bungie revealed that AI would be driving in Halo 2. Then we found out that AI drivers aren't all they're cracked up to be.

Every time I place AotCR two or three marines hope in Ghosts. If you get in the Ghost and then get off I don't think they get back on though.

I am now suddenly wholeheartedly against the console version of this game. Still hopeful for a PC version though.

Well, I won't be playing it with Kinect. So I got no problems here.

Why does it need to be there in the first place?

It's an unwarranted gimmick that adds nothing to the core game.

Maybe someone else wants to use it. It's completely optional, so you don't need to.

That's my question.

Who would want this? The core audience who play Halo most likely don't want it, and while this is an attempt to reintroduce people to Halo with Halo 4 coming next year and trying to new people, do you think the Kinect alone can draw them in? Especially given it has no effect on the gameplay?

This move makes no sense to me.

That really is a bit of a problem with the Kinect... almost all of it's uses in games are entirely optional. Other than the games that came out with the kinect, have there really been any games that require the kinect?

Microsoft needs to build a great game for the kinect from the ground up ON the kinect (kinda like Halo Wars and consoles... except less sucky). So far, all they've provided are their own ports of popular Wii games for the most part.

In my eyes, it adds nothing and it takes away nothing. No harm no foul.

If Bob over here wants to play Halo with his Kinect, then who am I to say nay in how he: 1) spends his money 2) plays his games. Sure I disagree with his choice but I can still play the way I want to, with my controller. So in the end, we both get what we want. Everybody wins.

And that, gentleman, is my 2 cents.

Yes and no. A game should either use optional kinect to enhance gameplay (a la Mass Effect 3, which could be interesting) or be built exclusively for the kinect. What i'm afraid of is seeing gaming companies try to shoehorn motion controls in last second, kinda like what happened to the Wii.

Edit: So just yes, but be wary of new features.

That would be fine in an ideal world, where game developers would make games for everyone, but unfortunately this isn't the case, as they have to work under strict time frames and budgets.

Your adding a feature which will take time and money to implement, for what has to be a very small quota of the people you want to buy this game, as most people who will get it don't care for or have a kinect.

You'll get the kinect player's money but a greater cost in the long run.

To me it's a colossal waste of time and effort just to appease a tiny demographic.

I agree with Rock, although I would contend that they have bigger fish to fry than Bob's urge to play with his kinect.

I agree CivBase, but Bob's urge is/was such a small thing to deal with, that it has already been taken care of. They made the game support Kinect. Problem solved.

It doesn't have to be an ideal world. It works just fine here. If someone wants to play it with Kinect, now they can. It doesn't matter if it's implemented well or not. The option is now there. It sure dosen't seem to cause any problems as far as time frames or budgets. If they're were, then they probably wouldn't have it be in the game in first place.

I agree that there is/will be a very small percentage of people who are buying this who 'want' to play Halo with Kinect. But that doesn't mean that they can't do it or that they shouldn't. I don't think Microsoft is that stupid. They know that most if not all Halo players do not want and or will not play Halo with Kinect, so the time and effort must be small enough to appease both audiences. Otherwise, they wouldn't be doing it.

Hey, if it makes menu navigation less of a hassle, I'm all for it.

You know what officially sealed my contempt for Halo Wars? ES was just so proud of their little circle menu innovation...

And then failed to integrate it into the main menu. I think it's time we left the simple lists of yesteryear and explore new formats.
