I just became aware of this and it's very disturbing. I know some of you may not care but if you do, you should click on the "Help stop the cruelty" button on the website, scroll to the bottom, and fill out the fields to send the letter.

its PETA propaganda.

There are already laws in place to stop that kind of treatment from happening, and in general PETA is the last people you want to listen to about animal rights because they are generally batshit crazy. They believe having a pet animal is slavery. They believe putting a dangerous dog to sleep is murder. They also 100% believe that animal testing has never done anything for the medical world.

EDIT: And those videos and resulting lawsuit happened 2 years ago. And funny thing to note, PETA wasn't involved in the lawsuit whatsoever. Because spending the money on lawsuits isn't as fun as traveling the world.

I know PETA isn't a good group for animal activism, but it's the biggest.

I guess something is better than nothing

Ringling won because the only witness the animal side had was being paid so much money by these groups that his testimony was thrown out.

Sure they were over the top with some of the hits. BUT if you notice, they are using that as a training method. They hit their legs to walk, spread legs...they would hit the head/face to open their mouth, grab the tail of the other, raise their trunks...they hit the sides to make them stop walking.

PETA is over dramatizing everything we see. Just like every other media source.

not to mention what would be considered a light pat by an elephant looks like a savage beating to us fragile humans.

Punching an elephant as hard as possible and breaking a couple of knuckles would probably just tickle an elephant.
