And yes, it does take some of the fun out of it. But hey, imagine how entire nations will fear you if they know that you can strike them dead without warning. No mercy, no saving throws. Imagine the turmoil, the conflict as heroes set out to kill you, only to be overcome and dragged back home by their families.

And, of course, there's going to be orphans who come after you. And that's who you get to have fun with.
I mean, if you've got "Familicide" eating up an epic-level spell slot, you've surely got "Evans Spiked Tentacles of Forced Intrusion" as well.
