Anti-Malware

Post by Rotaretilbo on Tue Oct 18, 2011 10:19 pm

I've decided that I'm fed up with AVG Free. It sucks. It's terrible. It's ǝʌıʇɔǝɟɟǝuı. Thus, I am going to replace it. So, here's where you come in. Post the anti-malware software that you use, and your opinion on it.

I have Trend Micro... it's okay, but I think I'll be switching when my subscription ends. I'll probably go for AVG or Kaspersky... or maybe Avast or McAfee... I'm not sure yet. All I really know is that I'm not getting Norton.

Well, I work in customer support for an anti-spyware program, and I see a lot of people who have AVG Free getting viruses anyway. More importantly, whenever it runs a scan, my computer basically locks up because it's a resource hog.

AVG free accomplishes everything i need plus a billion times more.

The use of Google Chrome and reputable torrents pretty much ensures I get no viruses, malware, and adware.

Meh, I use AVG Free. It's worked better ever since I switched to Chrome.

It doesn't lock down my computer when it scans, though.
I also have a Norton trial version, but I've yet to hear good things about Norton. It's basically the Microsoft Internet Explorer of anti-malware programs.
