MIB2 was pretty poor.

Little concerned they've had to resort to time travel.

Oh dear Lord Pheonix. Hopefully it won't be as awful as the last one.

Brand recognition.

It's safer to make one of these than a new project, as people will at least remember one of these films.

i don't consider this to be much of a cash in movie. It's been a sizable delay, meaning it's fairly likely they have a legitimate plan and story.

Im put off a bit cause it seems like their might be less K in this movie and honestly that's what I like about the movies.

K is the best character in the movie, but his inclusion in the 2nd one when the ENTIRETY of the first one was about him finding a successor so he could retire was strange.

The Will Smith Rule:
If A) Will Smith is involved with an upcoming movie
and B) The movie is based on/inspired by a previously existing science fiction IP...

Then the movie is going to suck.

Examples:

• I Robot
  
• MIIB
  
• Wild, Wild West
  
• I Am Legend

Exceptions:

• MIB (Based on a comic)
  
• Independence Day: Not based on anything other than pure suckage.
  

I Enjoyed I Am Legend, but I did see it before I read the book or saw Omega Man.



But the story does show that a man was able to survive for like what, 5 years in an infected zone with zombies/vampires trying to kill him and it took a woman 1 day to fuck it all up.

I liked Independence Day

He said the EXCEPTION was Independence day and that was good.


Which it fucking was.

It backfired hard.

And again, he seems to be the plot device, as in MIB II has was an amnesiac for the first half, and drove the plot in the second half.

It looks the same in this one, with him gone for large sections and young K as a replacement.
