Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition

Post by Avenged on Tue Jun 12, 2012 8:22 pm

I wasn't sure if you guys made a thread for this game so I figured I'd make one myself. I bought the game on its release and have been very impressed with it. The game is a great port in my opinion with one of the only major setbacks being the lack of an infinite world.

If you have the game and want to play just add me on XBL and we can start a save or something.

Infinite world will come... but I tried the trial and felt it to be a bit less fun without crafting. Part of the fun with minecraft is figuring everything out and they wont let you leave the 'tutorial' area until they've already forced half of it into your head, which I felt to be a little bit of a let down.

Otherwise, pretty good. The controls are fun and I could have gone without the pixled buttons and letters - I think it looks kinda old and, although minecraft isn't about having the fanciest graphics, it never actually felt old to me.

Yah.... either way, I don't see myself getting it. After playing Technic on the PC version I can't force myself back to vanilla, much less a heavily outdated version of it.

I skipped the tutorial so I never had to deal with all that nonsense.

I also feel like if they had tried to do a direct port it would have been kind of clunky and hard to play. I agreed with you for the first week or two that it was "more fun" to craft the things manually. After that I got used to it and it made everything much much easier and ultimately, a little more fun.

It also helps that it is much easier to play with friends. Simply checking a box before you load up your server and then sending invites to friends is much more user friendly than the state of things on the PC. That in turn is balanced out by it being "vanilla minecraft". However in my opinion, vanilla taste pretty goddamn good and while we all like our fair share of Rocky Road or Chocolate Peanut Butter with sprinkles, nothing could ever taste better than vanilla ice cream on a hot summer day. Coming back to the basics is fun and very refreshing after playing with dozens of mods.

Currently, I am enjoying the dated, vanilla, and more consoley version of minecraft more so than my massive server on the PC that I have put days of work into...go figure.

Idk... Technic is pretty cool. If you have the PC version, I highly recommend you look into it.

Well they released a skin pack for this and one of my brothers bought it, and I noticed that there's a skin of a squid, so all I could think of was this:

Thank you, Dud, for that.
