Honestly, I didn't think Slender was scary. Frustrating, but not scary. Maybe I'm just weird.

The series is scary.

The game doesn't look so much.

The game is only scary if you've already watched the series. Slenderman doesn't run on cheap scares. He runs on deeper implications.

Yeah, it can get kinda creepy in the game, but after you quit or win, the idea of Slenderman gets into your head. That's the scary part.

The problem with Slender as a stand alone medium is that you're a girl in the woods and a tall guy is following you around and making your screen static. There's no background, no character development, and it's all so rushed. The game, on its own, is more frustrating than scary. It's the sort of game that might get you to jump a few times, but that's not going to prevent you from sleeping until the sun comes up for a week straight the way MarbleHornets did.

Here's how it works: game devoted entirely to Slenderman: Not scary.

Slenderman occasionally being sighted in Minecraft: Very. Scary.

P, have you started watching DarkHarvest00 yet? I personally like it better than both TribeTwelve and EverymanHYBRID. It starts out kinda like the latter in that you think that it's really poorly done at the beginning, but then find out that they were taking a whole new angle after all, so stick with it.

What we want to do at Pax next year is have our friend who is tall and skinny dress as Slenderman and put himself at places where people could see him. AKA windows looking at the street, right around corners and photo bombing images.

Maybe even place papers with crude drawings and phrases like "always watching, no eyes" everywhere.

Usually having them wear painters stilts help as well.

So there's a new custom gametype in StarCraft II called Haunted Forest, which is inspired by Slender, but multiplayer. It's quite interesting.
