audiobooks

Post by KrAzY on Mon Apr 04, 2016 7:05 pm

because of having limited time to enjoy media between my full time job and the animation work I do on the side i've become quite the binger of audiobooks, sometimes going through 2-3 a week during crunch time. I've been an audible member for about 4 years and have about 70 books on there, though a large number I have aquired in other ways.

do any of you listen to audiobooks? what are your favorites?

Honestly, between work and the gym I have nearly no spare time.  The time I do have I usually end up just dicking around on my phone or laying face down on my bed pretending my stressors don't exist haha.  It's been a good while since I was able to pick up a good book.  I honestly dislike the idea of one being read to me however.  One of the guys I share a head with spends about an hour in the shower every morning listening to them and it drives me fucking insane, which may contribute to my aversion to them.

That being said, are there any books in general that you've read lately that you would recommend? I did happen to reread the Old Man's War series (which is amazing) somewhat recently. Other than that nothing big.

I listen to audiobooks almost exclusively while I drive, work, and work out. so not while I would be reading anyways.

as for physical books, I've recently been reading the Stephen Ambrose book "Nothing Like it in the World: The Men who Built the Transcontinental Railroad" which if you like historical nonfiction is good. Stephen Ambrose is who wrote Band of Brothers

I listen to podcasts and audiobooks when I go to bed. WTNV got me into both. I read physical books on my lunch at work
