The Best Gun

Post by Kasrkin Seath on Sun Dec 28, 2008 10:24 pm

This is the great debate for the Best Gun!
This is broken up into categories =

Rifles(Rifles, Carbines)
Sniper Rifles
Shotguns
Assault Rifles
SAW(Sub-machinegun, light machine gun)
Machine Gun
Handguns

*Anti-Vehicle weaponry does not qualify for this debate, this includes rocket propelled weapons, missiles and related weapons, including grenade launcher

After so many posibilities have been stated for a category, a poll will be held

-----------
For the best shotgun, I am going to nominate the Remington 870 Series

The pump action shotgun was developed in the 1950's and has been the best selling shotgun in the U.S. since then with over 9 million sold. It is used by the public, the military and polices forces in various nations around the world(especially the U.S.). The amount of variants, ranging into the dozens, is the result of its wide use.

Key to its success is its ruggedness, durability and simplicity to use. Those qualities, stacked on top of the gun being inexpensive and very reliable took it to the top.

Page about it
I myself have an express version of it, cept its all black and is a super mag(can fire 3.5" shells)

Best handgun: Smith and Wesson 500. Most powerful production handgun EVER. Be sure to fire with both hands, but whatever you hit goes DOWN! It's the kind of sidearm you'd take with you when going big game hunting... for Elephants, Buffalo, or Grizzly.

Followed closely by the Kriss Super V. I suppose it's a submachine gun, but it looks neat, and has a rather interesting recoil mechanism to eliminate muzzle climb.

TAVOR is the new Israeli assault rifle they're using to replace the M-16 and the Uzi, to everyone who doesn't know.

Oh, and SAW is Squad Automatic Weapon.
It's the LMG used by the support guy in an Army or Marine squad.

Best rifle: M1 Garand: General patton himself said it was the best dam rifle in toe core (or something like that) and it was used in WWII until vietnam and i think limited use in other small conflicts.

Squad Automatic Weapon, Normally a light machine gun but a sub-machine gun can be categorized as a SAW

The most produced weapon... ever. Even going back in modern times, it's amazing how much Kalashnikov got right.

God, I love Her. Beautiful, isn't she? Slight problems with muzzle climb and clip balance, but she is my absolute favorite in RTCW and CoD.
I have a list of WWII weapons to acquire and fire, and the FG-42 is at the top.

I don't feel like categorizing it, but since the BAR was actually invented in WWI, and it was still one of the best weapons in WWII, It has my vote.

AK-47 because it's durable and easy enough to use that all the militias and stuff use it... in America.

The AK has its drawbacks.

It's range is slightly more than half that of the M16, and it's not very accurate.

It's the perfect gun for guerilla warfare, but not as good for a formal military.
Perfect example being Afganistan in the 80's when the Soviets invaded.

The resisting tribes and the Russians both had the same gun, but the tribes were able to use it to greater effect, which is why the Russians decided to use helocopter raids instead.
