The AK-47 for the assault rifle.

I choose this as a weapon thats good all around. Easy to mas produce, extremely durable, can go through hell and back. Its reliability is amazing, while it lacks in accuracy, it overcomes with all the rest.

If we are going for special catagories, I will pick a diff. gun.

i choose the lancer.
a gun that is full auto, accurate, has a pretty high RoF, a chainsaw, and still light enough to carry around on a battle field

I'm going to go with revolutionary guns.
Rifle: M1 Garand
Sniper: Springfield
Shotgun: meh
Assault Rifle: STG 44 (the first ever assault rifle)
SMG: MP5
Machine Gun: Squad Automatic Weapon
Pistol: And the Luger (for the most bad ass looking gun there ever was)
