The Catalyst

This is that story I started the "Secret Project of Evil" thread for.

Introduction/Scene One
He ran. He ran through the crowded marketplace, dodging shoppers, merchants and their various kiosks. The Voxitian Levo were hot on his trail. They kept shouting, “Punto, punto!”, stop, but he ignored their cries. He jumped over a cart, and brushed past another shopper, and continued on.
He had been running for months. Ever since his previous home had been compromised. A maid had found several passports, with several different names, but the same picture, and had reported it to the local Levo. They then came to his apartment, with the intent to arrest him, but got a nasty surprise when they’d drawn their weapons.
And so he ran. He ran from the Levo, he ran from the Latrocio, but mostly, he ran from himself. He ran from his destiny. His purpose. And, run as he may, he had no idea that Fate would soon catch him…

Yeah, the formatting in PHBB sucks.

But no, you're not supposed to get all of what's going on, this is like a prologue.

Yah, tabs are annoying so you have to put an extra line between paragraphs.
Very good pie.

Here's part one:

Act One:Scene One

Another kiosk obstructed his path. With his knees bent, and head back, he slid beneath the stand and continued on. He briefly looked back. The Levo were relentless in their chase. They pushed shoppers, knocked over carts, nothing would stand in their way.

What he didn’t know was that the Voxitian Levo had been notified that he was a wanted fugitive, and that the man, (or in this case men) who caught him would be rewarded with twice their current salaries. They had been told that he was wanted, that he was armed, and that he was extremely dangerous. But not much other than that. So they were cautious, but aggressive nonetheless.

The path was mostly clear again, but that wasn’t necessarily a good thing. He ran unopposed, but so did the Levo. He slanted left, and into another crowd of people. Had he been more prepared, he would have been able to disappear into it. But he could not. He had no hat, no coat to take off, nothing to change his appearance just slightly enough to escape notice.

He continued to push through people, but he was running out of options, and the two Levo officers following him had little incentive to quit. His eyes scanned the area. It was a wide space, filled with people, shoppers mostly, and kiosks selling an infinite amount of items. The sun was shining down but it wasn’t too hot. There was sand and dirt on the ground, and little grass. The whole area was surrounded by buildings on two parallel sides.

That’s when something caught his eye.

In between two of the buildings, there was an alleyway that led into the city, and it looked empty. Good, he could try to lose them there. H waited a few seconds, then began his move. He started heading right, then started pushing more aggressively, and one shopper fell to the ground.

The Levo saw this, and also became more aggressive in their movements. They pushed and shoved people out of the way, and started using their badges, and saying “Levo, Levo!” to get more of a reaction.

The fugitive watched this and, delighted that his plan had worked, kept moving. He pushed tall, bulkier man, then ducked and rolled just below the crowd’s line of sight, in the opposite direction of where he was previously heading. This also worked, and attention was diverted towards the area where one man fell, and the other was still trying to figure out who pushed him.

When the Levo got there, they were angered to find no fugitive, and just a few angry civilians.

He walked more casually now, moving through the crowd, but in a much more passive manner. He continued to eye the alleyway, and kept moving in that direction.
After two minutes of walking, he reached his goal, and went inside.

When he got there, he saw a dumpster, a fire escape, and a chain link fence that kept each half of the alley separate. After taking a quick glance around the area, he ran to the fence, and jumped to grab on to it and begin climbing.

The fence was about 10 feet high, and he had made it to the 7 foot mark, when he heard, “PUNTO!” come from behind him. He froze. He had no idea whether or not he was absolutely required to be captured alive, but he did know that the Levo in Europa weren’t very particular on criminal rights, or what condition said criminal was in when he/she was arrested.

“Scendere e mettere tuo di non intervento dietro tuo principale.” [i]Get down and put your hands behind your head.[/i] He did just that, climbing down, then placing his arms over his shoulders then behind him.

“Fare non mossa.” [i]Do not move.[/i] Again, he followed their instructions. “Guardarsi intorno.” He slowly turned around to see two Levo, one about 40 and the other one a little over twenty. “Tony , ottenere suo fucile.” ordered the older one to his partner.[i] Tony, grab his gun.[/i]

The younger one move slowly towards him, never lowering his pistol, reached into the fugitive’s pocket, and took his weapon. He quickly shuffled back to his superior, and both were puzzled to see that not only was the gun empty, but that there wasn’t even a clip inside of it. “Che Ÿ il significativo di questo?” The senior Levo ordered. [i]What is the meaning of this?[/i]

A smile slowly crept across the alleged criminal’s face. He slowly took in a breath. When his lungs were full, he slowly opened his mouth, and let out a booming roar. As he did this, the sound waves created accelerated with enough force to make visible marks in the air.

These waves impacted the Levo, and sent both flying through the air, back out into the marketplace, and causing a lot of commotion.

The fugitive finished his yell, then inhaled to replace the now vacant oxygen in his lungs. He proceeded to walk over to the fence and, currently too energy spent to climb again, put his arms out, and let loose a loud clap, made louder by his rather unique relationship with sound, that repeated the earlier process with sound waves and thus, successfully ripped a large gouge in the lattice pattern of the fence large enough for him to stroll through, and enter the main part of the city.

Read the story or I kill the fucking cat.

I hate cats.

Yea, because when you hit tab when trying to type here, it starts cycling through the buttons. 1st time, Previous, 2nd time, Send, 3rd time, New Topic, and so on and so forth.
