Operator Codename “Hotel Lima” [Sentinel-A109] Currently Marked as MIA [Missing in Action], working as Jolly Green Giant [MH-53] Gunner, Squadron 21 USAF [Temporary Assignment], Helicopter Call sign November-Four
From Operation “Linebacker II” search and rescue [SAR] logs
En-Route to Downed airmen from F-105[Thunderchief] Call Sign Weasel –Ten [Wild Weasel Aircraft], shot down near DMZ [De-militarized Zone], North Vietnam side.

When November-Four reached crash site, no sign of either crew members, waited on station for 20 min, waited for flares; radio; or anything to find either members of the crew, was about to move on but Gunner[Sentinel-A109] noticed movement in tree line. 2 RPG’s [Rocket Propelled Grenade’s] came out of tree line, jigged out of way to avoid, barely missed tail rotor. Machine Gun [Possible DP [???]] started shooting at us from tree line, killing co-pilot, Gunner [Sentinel-A109] ordered landing, fallowed thinking he saw AA gun [was not case]. Gunner[Sentinel-A109] got out and ran to a group of trees near direction VC[Victor Charlie[Viet Cong]] where going to come from, came back with badly wounded pilot over shoulders, pulled M60 Machine Gun from mount and told us to go. Last seen him shooting at tree line.
